This game doesn’t frighten me anywhere now as it previously did, but I still have to prepare myself when I send Nancy to sleep the dream sequence still disconcerts me if I’m not prepared for it. Before I realised Nancy Drew was not a supernatural game, I also was terrified by the notion that Linda Penvellyn was actually turning into a werewolf. There are other frightening moments in this game though, such as Ether’s random appearances, and the strange oil ceremony in the middle of the night. This was my first Nancy Drew game and I remember being so frightened by the ‘nightmare’ that I actually stopped playing the game until a few months later. I have not revealed the name of any culprits though. (For example, the loud, scary banging noises Nancy hears is due to the culprit stamping on the floor of the room above). Likewise, in applicable cases, I also mention what is the cause of the haunting.
I have specifically mentioned examples of ‘scary’ moments in each of the games and when they occur.
